Team Australia Masters

2008 World Masters Surfing Championships

Australia’s premier master surfers slugged it out for world glory at the 2008 ISA World Masters Surfing Championships in Peru but came up just short placing second to South Africa.

Team Australia were led by 1988 Pipeline Masters champion Rob Page who won the Grand Masters division. Page is a former elite World Tour competitor and contested in both the men’s masters (Over 35) and grand masters (Over 40) divisions.

The ISA World Masters Surfing Championship is a team competition and the division are as follows:
Masters: Over 35 years old
Grand Masters: Over 40 years old
Kahunas: Over 45 years old
Grand Kahunas: Over 50 years old
Masters Women: Women over 35 years old

Copacabana's Rob Baldwin (NSW) posted some great scores in the epic conditions at Punta Rocas in Peru to advance from round two of the Over 45 men's division
